Our readers speak out
Love those librarians!
Thank you for a terrific magazine! As an elementary school librarian, I had to first read the great article on a fellow professional, Lisa Von Drasek ("A Literature Lover's Life," February 2005). I also saw the information about the Library research paper from Scholastic. Please note that the correct url is www.scholastic.com/librarypublishing and then follow the link at the top of the page.

One rockin' librarian
Thank you so much for the wonderful profile and that fabulous cover picture! I have been receiving e-mails from teacher/librarians from all over the United States. They are so delighted that you chose to highlight the work of a school librarian. I feel like a rock star!

Altra Forma Furniture
I really enjoyed the article about teacher/librarian Lisa Von Drasek. I have a literature corner set up in my classroom, but find that the foldable couch/chairs I use do not stand up to the abuse kids dish out day after day. I looked on the Internet to find a source for the Altra Forma furniture she uses in her library but couldn't come up with any site. Would you be able to forward to me any information you might have on this furniture? Keep up the the interesting and informative articles in Teaching K-8.

Lisa Von Drasek responds:
I'm so glad that you like our furniture! The manufacturer's name is Agati and they're based in Chicago, IL. You don't have to buy preset groupings, but can pick and choose. I also really like the larger pieces and they are easy to group together, move around and clean. Be sure to check out their website at www.agati.com/childrens_menu.htm
Correction
Please note that with regard to our February 2005 cover story, the proper name of the institution for which Lisa Von Drasek works is the Bank Street College of Education. The library where she is Children's Librarian is the Bank Street College Library. Teaching K-8 regrets the error.
