Our readers speak out
Three cheers for Lee!
Every contemporary children's poet owes a debt to Lee Bennett Hopkins. His indefatigability and enthusiasm for promoting poetry are not only admirable, but infectious. It was therefore, with enormous delight, that I read his piece about my work in the October 2004 issue of Teaching K-8. I feel fortunate indeed that Lee featured me in the magazine – and that Teaching K-8 is even more fortunate in having Lee as a regular columnist.

A helping hand
John and I just wanted to thank you for all your help and support during our first attempt at writing for publication ("On the Road with Punxsy Phil," October 2004). Your letters, phone calls and e-mails helped and encouraged us tremendously. The final product was better than either of us had imagined.
Once again, thanks for the opportunity and for opening a new strand of our professional lives.

What luck!
Wow! What a great Lucky Subscriber gift! I have always wanted a Pocket Chart. I'm already using it for my reading with a student. Teaching K-8 has great articles that I use for my master level curriculum class. I also love the Green Pages and the Teaching Day-by-Day calendar ideas. Many thanks!

Two happy co-authors
I've just received my August/September issue of Teaching K-8 and I thought you did a great job on "A Reading Star is Born." I hope many teachers are inspired by the article.

I was very happy with our finished article in the August/September issue and can't wait to give copies to the families of the children pictured. Thank you!

Oops!
Please note that on our October 2004 front cover, we mistakenly stated that the Moorestown Friends School was located in Pennsylvania. The school is located in New Jersey.
In our October 2004 author story ("Pegi Deitz Shea: Threads of a Story"), we reported that Pegi Deitz Shea had traveled to both Thailand and Cambodia. She has actually only visited Thailand.
Also, the correct phone number to call for more information about the National Handwriting Contest sponsored by Zaner-Bloser Educational Publishers is 1-800-924-9233.
