Our readers speak out
School pride
We are having so much fun with our cover story that appeared in Teaching K-8 ("Artists at Work," March 2005). What a boost for our teachers! Thank you again for such a good job and for capturing our spirit. My assistant mailed a copy along with a letter to Oprah – we're a little proud. Yesterday our Superintendent called and asked for 12 copies. He must be proud, too! Thank you again for everything.

The mayor weighs in…
Thank you very much for sending me a copy of your March issue. It was indeed exciting to read your report on the excellent work of our Cave Spring Elementary School faculty and staff! Everyone in the Cave Spring area is indebted to Susan Childers for her leadership in providing 15 years of top-quality education in a very pleasant environment for our children – even in a temporary setting. Your magazine portrayed our school in an admirable manner and we are most grateful.

Raves for "What's Your Strategy?"
I just received my April 2005 issue of Teaching K-8 and fell in love with the article "What's Your Strategy?" by Barclay Marcell. I went frantically searching for my Beanie Babies™ so that I too could introduce the reading buddies to the students in our K-1 multiage classroom. We even came up with some new reading buddies to add to the collection. We introduced the new buddies to our students today, and they were really excited! We even downloaded the pictures of each beanie baby and made T-shirts for our class. Thanks for all of the wonderful ideas!

More raves
I really enjoyed reading the article, "What's Your Strategy?" in your April 2005 issue. My staff has just begun guided reading with their students this year and I know they will love Barclay's idea. Thanks so much!

An author says "thanks"
Many thanks for sending me the April issue of Teaching K-8. The story on my work came out great ("Janell Cannon: Mysteries of the Misunderstood") and I love how your Art Director put the Fuzzhead landscape in the background. I very much enjoyed meeting you and everyone at Teaching K-8…hope to cross paths again!
