Thumbs Up for Our New Look
Your redesign is great. It took lots of hard work, I'm sure, but the result is fantastic. Congratulations on the spiffy new look of Teaching K-8.

P.S. 20 Pen Pals
I agree with you about the Anna Silver School, P.S. 20 (profiled in the May 2003 issue of Teaching K-8) – it's wonderful. I've been working with their third grade teacher, Elizabeth Rosen, for three years. We introduced a "Write On" program in which we, at Verizon, match a P.S. 20 student with a pen pal. The pen pals are mostly retired seniors, and they think the kids are great. I'm proud of P.S. 20 and happy they include us in their extended family.

Teachers Inspiring Teachers
After reading "Standing On Solid Ground" in your February 2003 issue, I was impressed with, and inspired by, Missy Lee. It was wonderful to see someone with the true love of his or her profession that's so evident in Missy's great ideas and techniques. She has found a way to teach the curriculum effectively and in a way that is special to her.
Thank you, Teaching K-8, for interviewing another great teacher and providing me with new ideas to use in my classroom.
