Year Long Calendar of Activities
- August – study the archaeology of Ancient Greece as a follow-up to the 2004 Summer Olympics.
- September – work with the cultural diversity in your classroom.
- October – begin your study of Early America with Jamestown Rediscovered.
- November – continue your early America study with Plymouth for Thanksgiving. November is also a great time to study Native Americans and the archaeological finds that help us learn more about these cultures.
- Reinforce mapping skills with a world map where students can post locations of archeological digs they explore on the web for Geography Week in December.
- February – visit Mt. Vernon and Jefferson's archaeology project at to learn more about these presidents.
- March – start your study of Art Month with Rock Art Archaeology and let students do their own rock art.
- April – Plan an archaeological dig in your school yard for Earth Day.
- May – Leave an artifact box of data that will help the new students at your grade level be successful next year.
