A Day Full of Chocolate!

Chocolate is America's favorite flavor. Celebrate Chocolate Day on July 7 by learning all about this food that so many people are passionate about because of its sensational taste. Use the Teaching Day-by-Day: Chocolate activities for a month of chocolate!

Have your class look up the words chocolate and carob in a dictionary to find out what each word means and how they are alike and different. Can you substitute one for the other and do they have the same taste and texture?

How is Chocolate Manufactured?
Students will explore the process through which chocolate is manufactured and identify the stages in the manufacturing process.

Make that chocolate sundae!
The student will write detailed directions for making and eating a chocolate sundae. S/he will then create and eat a sundae.

Melting Chocolate
This science experiment helps students understand how temperature affects melting time.
