Alphabetical Order
A Is for Ape
Language Provide pictures of animals upon which are written the first letters of their names. Have students take turns selecting an animal and lining them up on a bulletin board in alphabetical order.
All Aligned in Alphabetical Order
Students organize lists of words alphabetically, then write and rewrite words using correct spellings, and finally, they identify and color-code key letters in words as they compare and arrange words into an alphabetical list.
Alphabetize for a Reason
This lesson is designed to show students how to organize information by using the alphabet.
Alphabetizing With Original Stories
This lesson challenges students to write original stories using alphabetical order. For students who are still developing a basic understanding of alphabetization, the entire class can write one story, beginning each page with a new letter. Challenge more advanced students to write their own stories or to compose the words in each sentence in alphabetical order. Students can illustrate their texts in class or at home with their families.
Acrostic
Student will learn how to write an acrostic poem, they will understand that adjectives are words that describe something, and also understand and use synonyms when writing poetry.
