Today's Classroom Activities :
Creating Holiday Cards

Enhanced Greetings
Art Collect greeting cards, beads, sequins, parts of old jewelry, glitter, glue and toothpicks. Use the toothpicks to put glue on the cards where decorations will be added to give a three-dimensional effect.
Curled-Paper Winter Holiday Cards
Students can curl narrow strips of colorful paper—the technique is called quilling and add them to cards they decorate for holiday greetings.
Creating Holiday Cards
This lesson incorporates painting and word processing software to create a card. Students will create original art work, insert it into a document, and print it. This can be done in a classroom or a lab setting with any age from second to fifth grade.
Cookie-Cutter Cards
Students can use cookie cutters and construction paper to make a variety of holiday cards.
Surfin' Santa Card
Santa on a speedboat or surfboard instead of a sleigh? December is warm in much of the world. Have your students design holiday cards to fit the season—and the climate!
Thumbprint Cards
Students can make these cards out of a thumb print and some poster paint.
