Grandparent’s Day!

Grandparents Day, is observed on the first Sunday after Labor Day, this year that falls on September 7. Have each child draw and color a picture of something fun that he or she does with his or her own grandmother or grandfather. Have the children take it home to give to their grandparent.

G is for Grandparents
Reading/Writing Make large "G"s around which students will create a collage of pictures and "G" words that describe their grandparents. On the back of the finished collage, each student should write how and why these particular words, phrases and pictures remind them of their grandparents. Photos from magazines or family photos can be used.

Have your students compare their “typical day” to a grandparent’s typical day when he or she was a child.
