Happy Birthday Galileo!

Galileo Galilei was born on February 15, 1564 and passed away on January 8, 1642. Galileo was a physicist, astronomer and philosopher who discovered four of Jupiter's 16 moons and improved the telescope. Have your students create a timeline of his life.

Read Galileo's Treasure Box by Catherine Brighton (Walker & Company, 2001) to your class. This wonderful book tells the story of Galileo's daughter, Virginia, as she explores her father's experiments with lenses and gravity.
