Super Snacks
Health/Writing February is Snack Food Month. Take some time to discuss and taste various snack foods. Which ones are good for you? Which ones are not as healthy? What is the difference? Ask your students to collect recipes for favorite healthy snacks such as trail mixes, etc., then type and illustrate them in the computer lab. Compile the snack ideas into a booklet that everyone can take home and enjoy.

A collaboration with the local high school café dishes up a fun learning experience for fifth graders and an opportunity to help tsunami victims in A Helpful Serving.

A Healthy Change will teach your students that a few gradual changes in their daily routines can get them on the road to becoming physically fit.
