Colorful Christmas
Art/Math/Music A new variation on the familiar song "The Twelve Days of Christmas" is created when the children's artwork is used to act it out. The students draw or paint the gifts cited in the song on pieces posterboard, then hold up their illustrations as the gift is being sung about. Pictures at least 12" x 18" work best when singing for an audience.

Rockin' Rhythm Band
Students define the word rhythm, learn different ways that ordinary objects can make musical rhythmic sounds, and create musical rhythms from ordinary objects.

Music from Across America
In this unit, students listen to a variety of popular, traditional and ethnic American music, from the evocative sounds of Native American drumming to the lively sounds of zydeco music from Louisiana. To develop their listening skills, students use worksheets to record their impressions about the music they hear. In addition to learning about musical instruments and the geographic and cultural context of music, children are encouraged to think about and express their personal responses to music.

Reindeer Ornament Craft
Making this reindeer ornament craft is a real holiday classic and a fun to do activity for your students this year.
