Slippery Spelling
Spelling/Reading Place a brightly-colored piece of construction paper on a table. Give students a bold marker with which they can write the spelling or vocabulary word that gives them the most trouble. Then provide a can of sprayable whipped cream for students to use to trace the word.
There are five types of spellers in our classrooms – find out which types you're teaching this year with Spelling it Out by Maryann Manning.
Invented Spelling shows that with the right amount of time and patience, your "inventive" spellers can make the transition to being conventional spellers.
