Today's Classroom Activities :

State Quarters Activities

State quarters. Print out the reproducible page at www.weeklyreader.com/quarter. Have your students make a tracing of a new state quarter in the picture space and answer the questions on the card. Fold the page to make it into a trading card. Create cards for all the new state quarters.

The 50 State Quarters® Program is a hit with kids! Thousands of children are collecting these unique coins—one commemorative quarter for each state in the Union—and learning more about their country's history and heritage. Bring the excitement of this historic event to your classroom with FREE 50 State Quarters Program lesson plans. Designed by teachers for teachers, each lesson plan includes everything you will need to create stimulating learning experiences for your students.

Design a State Quarter
Here is a fun project for your classroom, just print out a copy of the U.S. Mint template and have your students design their own version of your state quarter. Once they've drawn their designs have each student present their quarter to the class. Ask them to explain why they chose their design and how it relates to their state.
