Sunflowers Crafts

Sunflowers
Art Step 1: Give each student a stiff piece of 12" by 18" paper and ask them to draw a circle near the top. Step 2: Glue sunflower seeds inside the circle. Step 3: Yellow petals, green stems, green grass and blue sky can be painted on with brushes or fingers.

Sunflower Pincushion
Your students can brighten someone's day with this pincushion made with a detergent-bottle cap, a foam ball, and fabric.

These giant sunflowers are made from small paper plates, a paper towel tube, sunflower seeds, and construction paper.

Children love sunflowers! If you've grown them this year you can use the seeds for many fun craft projects, if you didn't grow them, never fear, you can usually buy them in bulk from the grocery store or local garden center where they sell birdseed.
