Today's Classroom Activities :

The Sun

Out in Space
Science Show the class pictures of the sun. Have your students write a description of the pictures and things they know about the sun. Ask them to indicate what they do not know by listing two or three questions about the sun. Place printed and pictorial references on a table so that during the week, students can study the references. Have them check facts with what they know as recorded on their paper. Remind them to look for answers to their questions. Each day, have a few volunteers report on their findings, and at the end of the week, lead the class in a discussion of the information they discovered about the sun.

Extra: Invite your students to work together to create a class bulletin board display with information and illustrations about the sun.
