Which One Doesn’t Belong Activities
You Don't Belong!
Math Name three objects in the classroom and have a student identify the one that doesn't belong (i.e. desk, chair, plant). Allow that student to name the next three items. At another time, play the game using objects that are found in a grocery store (banana, shampoo, peach), in a gym (hockey stick, baseball, basketball), etc.
What Doesn't Belong? A Categorization Game
In this outdoor activity your students will have fun hunting for objects that have something in common and choosing one that doesn’t belong in the group. The object of the game is to have the other person figure out what item doesn’t quite fit. Your students will have so much fun playing this game they won’t even know that their practicing some important learning skills like: understanding relationships, categorizing, comparing, contrasting and observing.
What Belongs, What Doesn't
Students practice classifying foods into food groups by identifying one food in a set of four that "doesn't belong" and explaining why.
